In words of Dale DeGroff (aka King Cocktail), people visit the bartender, not the bar. And indeed it is the case with Seocho’s Bar Flair. Hidden away in the back alley, between Sinnonhyun and Gagnam Station, it’s not only one of the few places in Seoul where you will get professionally made, tasty cocktails, but will be guaranteed an almost homely atmosphere, created by a dedicated team of bartenders. That being said, the atmosphere tends to be more party-party, as every night the staff holds a real flair shows, involving fire tricks, juggling, improvised ridiculous dancing and equally ridiculous jokes from the MC. To add to the fun, there are several darts stations, which you can enjoy with your buddies.

I know it is very biased of me to be praising Flair, seeing that I’m currently ‘in-training’ there, but if a bar has a significant league of frequently returning customers, there must be something in the air. Or the drinks.

Menu : A vast cocktail offer updated on regular basis, whisky/vodka/tequila beer sets, side dishes

Protip: if you are friendly with the managers, you will get an insight into the secret unique alcohol stash

Music : Usually anything upbeat, but as the playlist is controlled by the almighty Dark Hyung, it really depends on his mood. We had a night with Taylor Swift, sad ballades and a 90s comeback.

King Cocktail라는 Dale DeGroff에 사람들은 바 보다 바텐더를 보기위해 방문한다.

특히 서초의 더플래어 바 같은 곳이다. 신논현과 강남역 사이 골목길에 위치해 있는 이 바는, 신기한 바텐더들 덕분에 맛있는 칵테일을 마시면서 즐거운 밤을 보낼 수 있다. 바텐더와 수다를 떨 수도 있고, 매일매일 신기한 칵테일 묘기, 불 트릭이 포함된 플래어쇼를 볼 수 있다. 더 재미있는 건? 친구들끼리 다트 게임도 할 수있게 구비되어 있다.

현재 내가 더플래어의 연수생 이여서 그런지 모르겠지만, 대부분 한번 방문했던 손님들이 다시 찾아오는 숫자를 고려하면 바의 분위기가 특별하다는 생각이 든다. 그게 아니더라도 칵테일맛에 반할 것이다~

한가지 비밀을 알려 줄까? 메니저와 진해지면 메뉴에 없는 희귀한 종류의 술을 마셔 볼 수 있다.

음악 : 보통 파티 또는 클럽 장르로 나오는데 DJ인 다크형님의 기분에 따라 달라진다. Taylor Swift, 슬픈 발라드 또는 90년대 가요를 밤새도록 들을 수 있다.

Schowany w tylniej alejce, miedzy Snnonhyun a stacja Gangnam, jeste jednym z niewielu miejsc w Seulu, gdzie poza profesjonalnie przyzadzanymi koktajlami, ma sie sie rowniez gwarantowana ciepla, prawie ze domowa atmosphere, stworzaona przez grupke pasjonatow-barmanow. Warto zaznaczyc, ze ta atmosfera oscyluje gdzies miedzy mocno imprezowa, jakoze co noc urzadzany jest pokaz flair: popis sztuczek i magii barmanskiej, pelny smiechu i zabawy. Jakby malo bylo aktracji do uzytku gosci dostepne sa stacje rzutek.

Moja opinia jest zabewne mocno subiektywna, jako ze obecnie przyuczam sie do rzemiosla barmanskiego w tymze barze. Ale skoro bar moze sie cieszyc rzesza powracjacych  stale klientow, mozna spokojnie powiedziec ze cos w nim musi byc.
